Who is Resources for Seniors, Inc.?   

Resources for Seniors is a Wake County based non-profit organization founded in
1973 under the name Wake County Council on Aging.  Our name subsequently
changed to encompass the scope of our services.  In 2009 we celebrated 35 years
of service to Wake County.
Resources for Seniors serves senior and disabled adults in Wake
County, NC by providing home and community based information so
that they can maximize their choices for comfort, safety, security
and well-being.  Services include direct care, support services,
care management, consulting and information outreach.  We
provide excellence in service and care for individuals and families.

Currently in Wake County, 15%
of the residents – or 101,000
individuals are 55 and over.  
Adults aged 55-64 comprises 9%
or 52,500 people and adults
aged 65-95+ comprises 6% or
48,518.

As North Carolina grows, so does
our aging population.  The
number of people 65 and over
increased by over 21% from
1990 to 2000.  It is believed that
by 2030 the Triangle will
double in size from 969,000 to
2.2 million.  It is expected that
the 65+ population will represent
over 21%.
